Child Care Training and Tips for Self-Care

In recent times, many people have felt an increased level of stress and anxiety. Especially in the child care and education industry. Have you had emotional and physical exhaustion that makes you feel like you can't do your child care job anymore?

Job burnout is an all-too-common occurrence in child care workplaces. Online child care training courses can help prepare you to overcome workplace burnout.

Child Care Workplace Stress

Try the following tips and courses to keep yourself healthy:

1. Exercise often

When you get busy, trips to the gym are often among the first things to go. Yet, regular exercise can reduce stress and decrease tension. This is exactly what you need to avoid burnout. Take some time each day to walk around the block, practice yoga, or take part in any other form of physical activity that you enjoy. Even if it's only 20 minutes, you'll likely feel a big difference.

The Mindful Classroom is a 1-hour course to help both the children in your care and yourself focus on mindfulness and self-care.

2. Engage in self-care

During times of stress, it may seem selfish to stop tasks to make time for yourself. Self-care is critical for avoiding burnout. Take time for a 5-minute mediation. Or head outside for some fresh air.

Dealing with Personal Stress is a 1-hour course that helps you to identify stress and its effects. Plus, you'll learn some useful ways to manage stress.

3. Enjoy hobbies

Sometimes the best way to get your mind off of work is to focus on something else.

What are some of your favorite hobbies? Enjoy a movie or a TV show. Or find a new book to read.

4. Find a mentor or friend

Sometimes it helps to talk things out with someone else. Discuss your stress with a friend. Or find a mentor like another teacher with some experience or a director. Ask if they would be willing to mentor you through some tough times.

5. Focus on helping others

The children in your care may also be experiencing stress. The course, Toxic Stress in Young Children, can help you learn ways that you can help. You'll examine the effects of toxic stress on young children. Plus know how to lessen the impact on their daily lives.
