The Five Things You Need To Achieve Well-Being Today

Do you ever feel a sense of emotional and physical exhaustion? Does it make you struggle to do your work?

You're not alone. Burnout is a common occurrence, and, according to experts, it may be on the rise. A Gallup study found that 23% of people in the workforce experience burnout ‘very often or always’. And 44% feel burnt out ‘sometimes’. This means almost two-thirds of employees are burnt out on the job.

Well-BeingTo curb this, it's important to focus on wellness.  Gallup and Healthways developed "Gallup-Healthways Well-Being 5." This exercise defines five essential elements of well-being:

1. Purpose: liking what you do each day and being motivated to achieve your goals

2. Social: having supportive relationships and love in your life

3. Financial: managing your economic life to reduce stress and increase security

4. Community: liking where you live, feeling safe, and having pride in your community

5. Physical: having good health and enough energy to get things done daily

Now, here are some tips and online child care training course to help you focus on well-being:

1. Recognize stress

When you can identify when you are starting to feel stress, you can figure out better ways to handle it. This first step will help you figure out the areas of your job that you need to focus on.

Just Breathe: Dealing with Stress is a one-hour online training to help you identify stress (in yourself and your team). It will also give you techniques and resources on how to manage stress.

2. Focus on social connections

If you work in a team, consider planning a fun outing like a picnic outside. If you work alone, take some time to connect with a friend or family member.

It's also great to help families that you work with build social connections. The course Social Connections helps you to understand positive social connections. Building social activities helps families to be strong, reducing the vulnerability of children.  You'll also learn three common actions that help create friendships and healthy sources of support.

3. Build a budget

Creating a budget can help you manage your money to feel more secure. Start by writing down everything you buy for a month. Next, go through to see if there is anything you can remove to save more money.

4. Help someone else

Sometimes one of the best ways to feel gratitude is to help another person. Consider an act of kindness such as waving to a stranger or paying for someone's coffee. Even writing a simple note of gratitude can go a long way.

5. Engage in self-care

During times of stress, it may seem selfish to stop all your many tasks to make time for yourself. If it means taking a half-day to go get a massage or heading outside to read in the park, self-care is super important.

The Mindful Classroom is great for children and for adults. Learn some simple ways to focus on the present.
