Description
Tragic child drowning accidents happen every year - some in child care settings. The simple truth is that water-related accidents are preventable!
Drowning is truly the ''silent killer'' of young children: there are usually no screams or noises to alert the caregiver. In addition to drowning, there are other potential hazards involving water. Therefore, water safety is a priority for all child care settings - center and home, indoors and out. This course will help you learn to be proactive in all aspects of water safety for young children.
(Note: this course does not include in-water rescue, first aid or CPR, which should be taken separately by caregivers from an approved provider.)
