Description

Most people hold unconscious ideas about social groups that are unfamiliar to them. Implicit biases influence our perception and how we interact with others, at worst, leading us to depersonalize individuals from groups with which we have limited experience, and at best, influencing our opinions of others favorably before any information is gathered. Pinpointing the causes, signs, impact, and ways to conquer our biases can help us understand and overcome prejudice. This course clarifies implicit bias and will provide resources needed to identify biases and commit to change.
