Description
Throughout the preschool years, children develop a skill set that makes up their social and emotional growth. They learn about themselves and their world as they take on new roles outside of their home and families. In this course we are going to explore the major social and emotional developmental accomplishments of preschoolers, ages 3-5.
This course will explain how preschoolers learn to play cooperatively, make friends, and express emotions. It presents concepts from developmental theorists and strategies that can be used to foster social and emotional growth. To be successful in life, children need a
combination of intellectual skills, motivational qualities, and social and emotional skills. They must be able to understand the feelings of others, control their own feelings, and get along with their peers
and teachers. Children need to be able to cooperate, follow directions, and demonstrate self-control.
This course will be divided into two parts:
- Part 1 - Social and Emotional Development Milestones
- Part 2 - Social and Emotional Development Activities
