Learn to Develop a Classroom Schedule Through Early Childhood Training Online

Classroom scheduling is critical, even for very small children. When you use a consistent schedule in a Pre-K or Kindergarten environment, it not only helps children understand the classroom expectations, it is also helpful for behavior management.

To help you achieve these objectives in your classroom, the following courses are available to you as you complete your early childhood training online. These courses center around schedules, transitions, and lesson plans. Take a look.

The Daily Schedule

The Daily Schedule is a course designed for teachers  who are completing their early childhood training online. The hour-long course is worth 0.10 CEU credits, and it covers the components of designing a schedule for your students. The course also covers ways to accommodate parents and children with special needs.

At the end of this course, you should be able to understand the importance of a regular daily schedule and routine for young children,  the seven components of an effective schedule, as well as when to focus on each of those elements throughout the day. In addition, you should also learn how to monitor the efficacy of your schedule once you create it.

The Art of Transitions

Moving children from one activity to another throughout the day is a process called transitioning. Transitions can be easy or challenging depending on how they are conducted. To keep your classroom running smoothly, look into taking the course titled “The Art of Transitions” while doing your early childhood training online. This course is also an hour long, and it provides 0.10 CEU credits.

The course covers the importance of planning for transitions. For example, if the children are playing at recess, you will need to help them successfully transition from active play to indoor, seated activities. Making these shifts can sometimes be especially challenging for some children.

In this course, you learn strategies for smoother transitions, in addition to learning how being mindful of transitions and how they are conducted is helpful with reducing disruptive behavior in the classroom. You will also gain understanding about how to individualize transitions for students who need extra time or attention.

Lesson Planning for Young Children

Another helpful tip for scheduling the children’s daily schedule involves lesson planning. Lesson planning can help determine what activities to include in your schedule. To assist with this knowledge, you might desire to learn more about lesson planning while completing your early childhood training online.

In this particular course, you get to learn about the importance of preparing effective lesson plans. By the end of the course, you should know the key components of a lesson plan and understand the difference between and importance of long and short-range lesson planning. As a final thought, you will also learn how to incorporate different themes into your lesson planning.

As an educator, managing the classroom while also inspiring and engaging the children is all part of the job. A simple schedule with the right lesson plans can be a huge part of that process. To get started on your early childhood training online, contact ProSolutions Training today.
