The Child Development Division has a variety of supports for individuals who work in the early childhood and afterschool field. They fund several organizations to support you professionally including, the Northern Lights Career Development Center which builds the professional development system; Vermont Afterschool which supports professionals in afterschool programs; and Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children that runs the T.E.A.C.H. Program.

STARS is Vermont’s quality recognition system for child care, preschool, and afterschool programs. Programs that participate in STARS are stepping ahead — going above and beyond state regulations to provide professional services that meet the needs of children and families.
