Welcome to Strengthening Families Georgia!

Strengthening Families Georgia is a partnership of over fifty agencies and organizations that take the lead on children's issues. Housed at Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Georgia located within Georgia State University, Strengthening Families Georgia (SFG) is funded by the Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services and administered by PCA Georgia. This course is funded by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in partnership with PCA Georgia, Strengthening Families Georgia, and ProSolutions Training.

In Georgia and across the country, family serving organizations are incorporating the Strengthening Families Protective Factors framework into their programs. This framework identifies five protective factors that lower the risk of abuse and neglect and help build family strengths and a supportive environment for children and youth. It also includes specific steps child care providers and other professionals can take to establish those protective factors.

Because you interact with families on a regular basis, you know that caring for a child often means supporting the family as a whole and vice-versa. The ultimate goal of this course is to help you begin a conversation within your programs and in your communities about how you can strengthen families and help children by building protective factors.

This course is 2 hours, and once you have completed the course and test, you can immediately print your certificate, which includes CEUs at no additional cost.

This course is offered to participants in Georgia's Quality Rated program. Access information for the course can be found in a participating program's portfolio Standard 3.
