Staffing a program is one of the most important tasks in a program director's job. It is also one of the most difficult because good staff are often hard to find. Working with children and families requires a special type of person. Locating and hiring the right person involves both careful screening and some intuition.
This course has been designed to support program directors in recruiting, interviewing, selecting and leading qualified staff members with an eye toward retention.
Course Learning Objectives:
When thinking about recruiting, describe the staffing changes, networking, and advertising strategies to use in implementing a continuous recruitment plan.
Given a scenario, discuss the screening, interviewing, and selection process you would apply to choose the right candidate to fill the staff vacancy
Discuss the topics and activities you would include in your plans for orientation and on-boarding of new staff members
