The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities that successful child care program directors must fill. It also explores the personal qualities that are necessary to be successful in the field. The course is designed for individuals who have recently been promoted, hired, or even aspire to become child care program directors. For experienced directors, this course may serve as a refresher or update on recent trends.

- Distinguish between leadership skills and management skills
- Discuss the personal qualities and characteristics needed to be an effective child care program director
- Given an aspect of program evaluation, choose the appropriate tool(s) for assessment
