The preschool years, from ages 3-5, are marked by significant physical growth and development. Preschoolers are more coordinated, show newfound strength, speed, and abundant energy.
Gross motor development is gained through regular play and movement. It involves the large muscles of the body. The ability to coordinate smaller muscles in the arms, hands, and fingers is referred to as fine motor development.
