In this course we are going to focus on the physical development of infants. This domain of development refers to the changes that occur in the body over time. This can include the body size, body proportions, body mass index, skeletal growth, and motor skills (both gross and fine). Part of the infant’s physical development also occurs in the brain.Not all courses are approved for early care and education in every state. Please check State and CEU Approvals page for details.
Course Learning Objectives:
As a participant in this course, you will:
- List two physical aspects of infant brain and sensory development.
- Define the two key areas of infant motor development.
- List two major milestones of infant physical development in age groupings, birth-4 months, 4-8 months, 8-12 months and 12-18 months.
