This one-hour course is designed to provide educators with a basic understanding of some of the more commonly occurring types of special needs as well as learning environment modifications. Participation in this course will improve understanding of the developmental areas affected by special needs as well as spark ideas for adapting learning environments to meet children’s needs.

- Recognize characteristics of different types of childhood disabilities and impairments.
- Apply basic modifications within the classroom for each type of disability or condition.
