Description
Growing healthy bodies and minds requires proper nutrition and exercise. By planning healthy meals, child care providers can ensure that children eat healthy snacks and meals while they're in care and learn good eating habits that remain with them throughout their lives.
In this course, you will learn about the USDA’s MyPlate, which symbolizes a personalized approach to healthy eating and physical activity. We will also cover information on essential nutrients and a nine-step process designed by the USDA to help you develop nutritious menus for preschool children.
This course will be divided into two parts:
- Part 1 - Helping Children Make Healthy Food Choices
- Part 2 - Healthy Meal Planning
Not all courses are approved for early care and education in every state. Please check State and CEU Approvals page for details.
