Description
Young children are VERY active and curious about the world around them. This activity and curiosity causes young children to attempt to accomplish tasks or experiment in ways that their bodies and brains are not yet ready to handle. As a result, injuries often happen and are very common.
This course will review common childhood injuries and basic medical treatment that should be used to treat the injury, as well as safety precautions that can reduce and/or prevent injuries from occurring. After reviewing common injuries, we will take an in-depth look at another medical emergency that often occurs in child care settings: food allergies.
This course will be divided into two parts:
- Part 1 - Common Childhood Injuries
- Part 2 - Food Allergies
