Recognizing and Reporting Suspected Child Abuse in New Hampshire (1 hour) As adults, it is our responsibility to ensure the healthy
growth and development of all children. This includes intervening when we
suspect a child's well-being is or may be at risk. In this course, you will
understand the signs and symptoms of child maltreatment; North Carolina
mandatory reporting laws; the legal definitions of abuse, neglect, and
dependency; how and where to make a referral of suspected child maltreatment;
barriers to reporting and some strategies for overcoming them; and where to
find additional resources.

year, thousands of children are injured in transportation related accidents,
many with fatal outcomes. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention reports that the leading cause of death for children 0 to 19 is
due to injuries resulting from transportation accidents. Many of these
accidents occur while children are being transported in child care
settings.In this course, we will review transportation guidelines for keeping children safe in child care settings. We will also review the elements of a comprehensive transportation plan and rules for field trip safety. |
