This Blended Ancillary CDA Certificate Program is designed to help you earn both the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and the Louisiana Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate.
Where? Targeted parishes include Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana

When? Interactive coursework available online 24/7 and onsite community-based experiences scheduled to meet your needs

Why? To further develop your knowledge, skills and practices so you can better promote the healthy growth, development and well-being of children in your care and help them get ready for kindergarten

How? By providing a blend of online coursework, onsite assessments, online and onsite practice applications and observations, and ongoing support.

Program Benefits Scholarship Eligibility
  • Learn on your own schedule with online CDA coursework with embedded practice applications and real-life scenarios, live and recorded webinars, and resources

  • Share with instructors and other teachers through online practice community forums

  • Apply learning in the classroom with onsite assessments, practice observations and applications, including videos

  • Receive ongoing support along the way through your individual training plan, coaching/mentoring, instructor office hours, and assistance with the CDA portfolio and CDA application process
To be eligible for a Louisiana Pathways tuition scholarship for the Blended Ancillary CDA Certificate Program (BACCP), you must:
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Enroll or be enrolled and actively participating in the Louisiana Pathways Early Learning Center Career Development System
  • Be working as a lead or assistant teacher at least 16 hours a week in a licensed Louisiana Type III early learning center
Additionally, you:
  • May not already hold a degree or certificate (such as an associate in early childhood or a bachelor’s degree in any field) that qualifies you for the Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate
  • Should not have completed more than 80 hours of Child Development Associate (CDA) preparatory training
