Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Click on any question to expand the answer. If you don't see your question, contact us by email or by phone at 800.939.9694.
How do I register?
ProSolutions Training makes it easy to register. Simply click on the class you want to take, and you'll be asked for some basic information and to choose a payment method. Then you're ready to begin! Remember that you cannot share a ProSolutions Training account with anyone else; each person must register individually so that we can generate personalized certificates for you.
What does it cost?
ProSolutions Training courses are an affordable alternative to onsite classes. You may purchase all of your classes at one time and come back to them later, or buy classes individually when you are ready to take them. Individual course prices are based on course hours and content, starting at $14.
How do I pay?
You will be given a payment choice at the beginning of each course. If you prefer to pay online, by credit card, we have a secure payment option. After payment you can complete your course online and when you pass, print out your certificate immediately! (You will have four chances to take and pass the test without additional payment if you do not pass the first time.)
Will I earn CEUs?
Yes! ProSolutions Training is an accredited authorized provider of continuing education and training through the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). There is no additional charge for CEUs.
What is a CEU?
CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. CEUs are nationally recognized units earned for participation in qualifying continuing education programs and may be used for professional advancement or as evidence of increased abilities in a particular field. In the early care and education field, CEUs are required to renew a CDA. The CEU measurement is: 1 hour of course completion = 0.1 (or one tenth) of a CEU. Or, you can divide the course clock hours by 10 to determine the applicable number of CEUs for a class.
How much time does it take to complete courses?
Most ProSolutions Training courses are one hour in length; some are two hours. You can go at your own pace, so take your time and make sure you've mastered the materials. You can also stop the course and come back later to the slide you viewed last, so you don't need to finish a course in one sitting if you are interrupted.
How do I complete a course?
Each class has three components: a pre-test to help gauge what you already know about the topic, a clear, attractive course presentation to teach you more, and a post-test to ensure that you have mastered the course material:Complete the pre-test (which is not graded)Read the course presentation whenever you're ready (you can stop and re-start if necessary)Take the post-test and show us what you've learned! (then complete the evaluation)When you successfully complete the post-test and your evaluation, you will have access to a personalized certificate showing that you completed one or two hours of state-approved training and earned 0.1 or 0.2 CEUs. It's just that simple!Note:If a satisfactory score of 80% or more is not achieved on the first two post-test attempts, you may make two additional attempts to pass the post-test without additional charges. After four failing scores on the post-test for a single course, you will have to repurchase the course to take the test again.
What if I don't pass the course test?
If a satisfactory score of 80% or more is not achieved on the first post-test attempt, you may make one additional attempt to pass the post-test without additional charges. After two failing scores on the post-test for a single course, you will need to complete the course content again to receive two additional test attempts. If you do not pass the test after four attempts, your course will reset again within 48 hours to take the course again.
What equipment do I need? Must I have Internet access?
All training courses, tests, and certificates are delivered online and require Internet access. To view the courses, you will need an Internet browser (such as Google's Chrome or Firefox). Courses can be accessed through a desktop, laptop, or mobile devie. You will also need a printer to print out a copy of your certificates, or you may save your certificate to your device as a pdf.
Are these courses approved to meet training requirements for my professional development?
ProSolutions Training is approved to offer professional development for early childhood education in most states, and our CDA coursework is approved nationwide. To find the approval status of ProSolutions Training coursework in your state, you can visit our State and CEU approvals page. ProSolutions Training is an authorized provider of CEUs with IACET, the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training. IACET CEUs are available free of charge to anyone who successfully completes a course with ProSolutions Training and are accepted by many professional organizations and other entities. Trainings are based on up-to-date research combined with experience in the fields of child care, early education and other human services. Contact your state licensing agency to verify training approval.
Do you keep an online record of my courses?
Yes! You will have your own transcript with ProSolutions Training. When you set up an account with us, you will have a secure password that will give you access to your personal information, including a list of courses completed with the number of CEUs you earned.
I want to start on my CDA--what should I do first?
ProSolutions Training offers the most economical and comprehensive courses to help you complete the formal education requirements needed to complete and maintain your Child Development Associate (CDA) CredentialTM from the Council for Professional Recognition. In July 2017, ProSolutions Training received the Council's new CDA® Gold Standard Training Certification because of the quality of our online coursework, the support services we provide for students and our comprehensive learning management system.

CDA Eligibility Requirements

  • 480 hours of experience working with children within three years of beginning your application
  • 120 hours of training in eight subject areas, all covered in the ProSolutions Training online CDA Training coursework

How do I view the course materials?
ProSolutions Training courses are set up to run in an Internet browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. We recommend using Chrome. We also encourage you to keep your browser up-to-date for the best possible experience on our website. If you have questions about using your browser, open the Help menu in the bar at the top of the browser's window.
How do I navigate the course?
Each course is designed as a series of screens that you can read at your own pace. To move to the next screen, click on the right arrow at the bottom of the screen. To return to a screen you've already seen, click on the left arrow at the bottom of the screen. If you have to stop for any reason, you will be able to return to the point where you stopped after you return to the site and log in, so you will not lose any progress.
    What are learning applications?
Learning Applications are multiple-choice questions that appear on some screens. Click on your chosen answer to see if you are right! If you have selected the right answer, you can move to the next screen by clicking on the right arrow at the bottom of the screen. If not, click on a different answer you believe is correct. You will not be able to continue with the class until you have correctly answered the question, but don't worry: there's no time limit and your answers are not graded. If you really get stuck, remember that you can go back to re-read earlier screens by clicking on the left arrow at the bottom of the screen. Then click the right arrow to return to the Learning Application screen.
How do I access course resource materials?
Many of our courses include materials you might find useful. These Resources are free and reinforce what you learn in the course or may be useful in your classroom. From the bottom of a slide in any course, click on "Resources" to reach the resources page. You can view the resources on your screen or save copies of the files to your computer.
When I try to order a new course, or I try to click through an existing course, I get kicked out and have to log in again!
