This one-hour course will provide program directors and family child care providers an overview of advocacy in the field of early care and education. You will learn what advocacy is and how you can be an effective advocate.Not all courses are approved for early care and education in every state. Course Learning Objectives:
After participating in this course, you will be able to:
- Given the definition of advocacy, distinguish between providing advocacy and providing direct services
- Given the five roles of advocacy, choose one that you are most comfortable with and discuss your rationale
- Given a cause, identify and discuss three ways you can be involved as an advocate for that cause
